It’s been a little bit since I posted. The summers always fly by and this one seems to be no different! I can’t believe were already in June and this weekend my baby brother graduates from college!
WOW – So proud of that kid.
Anyways – one of my all time favorite ways to dress is by mixing dressy with casual.
There are so many ways to do it and it is such an effortlessly easy look to achieve. And can I mention how much more kid friendly it is compared to a full on dressy look?!
Here I paired a skirt with a tee and converse. Converse, in my opinion, go with practically anything. If you don’t have a pair you MUST invest! I actually need another pair because mine are pretty beat up – I’ve had them for like, 7 years now. Yikes.
Here are some outfit ideas that I’ve some up with if you are interested in a dressy/casual look but don’t know how to get started
Mixing dressy with casual
- A skirt, tee and sneakers (like my look above). I also usually throw on a hat because I’m not gonna lie, my hair is dirty a lot of the time.
- Crop top, joggers and heels. Joggers aka sweatpants (let’s just call them what they are) have made a serious comeback lately but you are seeing them a lot paired with heels to add a little glam to the look. Basically, you roll out of bed, throw on some heels with your pjs and you’re on trend. #thatswhatimtalkinabout
- A dress, sneakers and denim jacket. I would say the denim jacket is only needed if it’s a little cooler at night. This is perfect if you’re going out with friends so you feel obligated to “dress up” a little bit but still want to be cute and comfy so you trade the heels for sneakers. I have a sequin dress that I’ve been dying to wear with sneakers because otherwise it will probably just collect dust in my closet. I’ll probably post that look soon 🙂
- A tee, overalls and heels. SUCH a cute look. I will also post this look soon 🙂
Usually I am casual or mixing dressy with casual. Rarely ever am I full on dressy – that’s just not realistic for me. I am a lover of being comfy 🙂
Let me know if you are also a lover of mixing dressy with casual and what your favorite looks are 🙂
Until next time
