Man, it’s been a while since I have posted! Life happens and then, POOF** two months goes by.
I thought today I would share with you some of my beauty MUST HAVES! If you know me then you know I love makeup. I super creative so to me makeup is another art form. I used to experiment much more with makeup but since having Cole there is not as much time to do that. That’s ok! I still love it and many of these products are perfect for mamas 🙂
Let’s start with the skin.
Dr. Brandt’s pores no more pore refining primer. This is THE BEST. There are tons of primers out there but for me this is perfect. I have large pores on my nose and cheeks and this is the only primer that helps minimize the appearance of my pores but ALSO allows my makeup to go on flawlessly overtop.
Dr. Jart+ premium beauty balm SPF 45. So this isn’t technically a primer but I actually wear this under my makeup a lot. I put a little bit of this on my problem areas with large pores and it totally just blurs all my imperfections. What’s great about this is that on days when you don’t want to wear heavy foundation you can throw this on with some concealer and be out the door. It also has SPF 45 which is AWESOME. We gots to take care of that skin, Ladies!
Wet n Wild photofocus foundation. This is new to me but for the price it is GREAT! This foundation is right around $5 or $6. Ya, $5 or $6 for a FOUNDATION! That’s incredible. Especially when it actually performs. I have normal/combination skin and I have worn this the past 3 days. At the end of the day I had absolutely no separation. Now, I did set this with powder and I also used a primer so that very well could have contributed but overall I am very impressed. I got the second to the lightest shade and I would actually probably go for the lightest next time because there is a little bit of oxidation so just keep that in mind if you decide to pick this up.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation. This has been a favorite of mine for a long time now. It comes in Combo/oily or normal/dry. I get combo/oily because I usually like a more matte finish. This foundation stays on all day – in the heat, in the rain, sweating it does not budge. I wore this foundation on my wedding day and it did not disappoint!
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation. This foundation is beautiful. Of course it is more expensive than the drugstore but a good foundation is worth the splurge in my opinion. It looks gorg in photographs and they have a million shades to choose from. Jk, but they have a lot.
Diorskin Airflash spray foundation. This is my special occasion foundation. I have a can of this and only break it out when I’m wanting to look extra flawless. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this foundation at first. The spray is definitely something you have to get used to – a little goes a long way. I mist it on my skin and then blend it out with a beauty blender. I don’t even know if that is the proper application for this foundation but that works for me! p.s. I only use this foundation once a lifetime because it’s $62. Ya, that’s expensive.
****starting to realize how long this post is going to be…****
Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer. This was my number one concealer up until recently. I still think it’s amazing because it is. It definitely is a full coverage concealer and that is why I love it. It is a little pricey but honestly one tube lasts me almost a year. That’s worth it to me!
Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer. I love this concealer but that name has got to go. Honestly do you really need 8 words for a dang concealer name? Anyways… This stuff is AWESOME! It is a similar consistency to the Makeup Forever concealer but it is a little thinner. And it TOTALLY is full coverage without being overly heavy. I use my beauty blender to blend this out and it is a DREAM!
Mac Studio Fix powder plus foundation. This is an oldie but a goodie. Totally gives you that flawless finish.
Kat Von D Lock it brightening powder. I just got this and am pretty impressed so far. It definitely brightens up the undereye. I almost wish there was one shade lighter than Petal (the lightest shade) mainly because I am soooo pale and while Petal works for me I would like it a touch lighter. I am also not crazy about the packaging but the powder does its job and definitely brightens!
Beauty Blender. I had strayed away from the beauty blender for awhile. I just wasn’t into spending $20 on a sponge. I tried other brands and thought that I would try the beauty blender again. I forgot how amazing this sponge is. It really is different than the others! Idk how to explain it but it just blends your makeup flawlessly! So now I say… it’s worth the $20.
Colourpop liner. This liner is so creamy, so inexpensive and there are so many cool colors. Enough said.
Nyx Matte Liquid Liner. I am always on the hunt for the best liquid liner because I basically do a wing everyday. This one is super black and SOOO easy to work with. This is definitely my number one.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. This mascara is BOLD and BLACK. The wand is super thick which I love. I recommended this to someone before and she actually hated it. I feel like this is just one of those products that you either love or hate. This is everything I look for in a mascara. If you have really short eyelashes I could see how you would hate this mascara because it could be messy for you though.
Rimmel lip liner in Eastend Snob. Something about this color…. this is literally my favorite lipliner ever. I wear it probably almost everyday.
NYX soft matte lip cream. I love these so much! If you are someone that does not like liquid lipsticks because they are too drying than you will love these. They never fully dry but they are very longwearing and feel great on.
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip. I love this formula so much. Again, if you don’t like the drying qualities of a liquid lip you will love these. They are super comfortable to wear and super affordable.
Ok, I am sure that I have more products but I am about to pass out on my computer.
Until next time!
